Protests against Jewish people have been happening at many college campuses in the United States. These protests have caused some people to get arrested and even forced some campuses to close down temporarily.
- A major protest at the University of Southern California (USC) caused the school to close down until further notice
- Nearly 100 people were arrested during the USC protest on Thursday
- Conservative radio host Mark Levin accused Biden of “gaslighting” and failing to condemn the unrest
- Levin claimed Biden enabled a “Third Reich in the Ivory Tower” with his stance on the Israel-Palestine conflict
- He called for defunding universities that allow “Hitler Youth” anti-Semitic protests to happen
The protests are happening because of rising tensions over the Israel-Palestine conflict. What caused this sudden increase in campus demonstrations?
Biden “Attacks” on Israel Criticized
Mark Levin blasted President Biden for “attacks on Netanyahu” and Israel’s right to defend itself against attacks from Gaza. He said Biden’s comments opened the door to increased hate and anti-Semitism.
“Joe Biden is responsible for much of the hate,” Levin stated. “That is why he doesn’t stand up like a statesman and put it down in unequivocal terms: This is not about Palestine. This is about terrorism on college campuses.”
Levin accused Biden of consistently being “on the wrong side” when it comes to issues of race, bigotry, and now anti-Semitism. He called Biden the “anti-Semite President” for not forcefully condemning the campus unrest.
Calls to “Take Back” Campuses
The radio host made a passionate call for Americans to stop funding universities that allow anti-Semitic protests, saying, “We need a movement, a ‘Divest and Sanction’ movement.”
“Start defunding them. Start eliminating tenure for these sanctimonious Marxist Islamist professors,” Levin urged. “Take our college campuses back from the Soviet-style fanatics that run them.”
He noted the protests are happening overwhelmingly at universities in Democrat-run cities and states. Levin claimed Republicans do not face similar issues on their campuses.
Controversy Over Trump Election Claims
Shifting topics, Levin defended former President Trump’s efforts to challenge the 2020 election results. He argued it is legal for candidates to raise questions about elections and lobby officials.
“Since the beginning of this country, we have never had a situation where the government has criminalized elections,” Levin stated. He claimed actions like calling state officials, having alternate electors and lobbying legislatures are permitted.
Levin accused the Supreme Court of wrongly allowing the electoral process to be “criminalized.” He said they should stop federal prosecutors from pursuing charges related to challenges of the 2020 election.
In Levin’s view, is there still too much ambiguity about what actions by candidates are considered legal or illegal when it comes to questioning election results?
